Hair is an important part of the human body. It protects our skin and helps keep our body keep warm when it is cold. Our hair is also a way for us to express our own individual style and personality.
Even though our hair is constantly growing it is important to look after it, as our hair can become damaged easily from colouring, styling, over washing and even the weather can have a negative impact. Below we have put together a short list of tips that can help keep your hair healthy.
1. Clean
Washing your hair too often strips away you hair and scalps natural oils and proteins that keep them protected and strong. Try only wash your hair up to three times a week to allow the natural proteins and oils to do their thing.
2. Condition
Conditioners are like giving your hair a huge glass of water after a long jog, they are super hydrating. To get the best out of your conditioner towel-dry your hair after rinsing out your shampoo. This gets the excess water out allowing your hair to more easily absorb the conditioner. Leave in for 2-3 minutes then rinse.
3. Protect
When using styling tools like straighteners or curlers and wands, or even hair dryers it is important to use a heat protector. Applying a heat protector to your hair when it is wet before drying and styling protects your hair from the extreme heat and reduces breakage.
4. Brush
Brushing our hair untangles knots and keeps your hair feeling and looking great. However brushing can be quite harsh on hair. Brush your hair when it is dry and always start at the ends slowly working your way to the top.
5. Secret Weapon
Using a serum on your hair after you have dried and styled it locks in the moisture and keeps our hair hydrated in between washes.
