Pimples, zits, spots, blemishes, acne!
Whatever you like to call them, pimples can be very annoying, embarrassing and painful. Want to know a fun fact? We all get them. No matter how old or how what you do, you can go to bed with flawless skin and wake up the next day with Mt Everest in the middle of your forehead.
So why do we get those painful, little or massive ugly things on our face, neck, chest, back and shoulders? Well pimples are caused by a number of things:
- An overproduction of oil
- A buildup of dirt and bacteria in our pores
- Genetics and hormones.
These are all factors that clog our pores and make pimples. It’s important to understand that the oils our body produces are normal and natural. Our body produces them to keep our hair and skin healthy and shiny, but other factors that are usually out of our control like the environment, makeup and diet can cause our pores to become blocked.
So what can we do about it? To prevent or reduce the severity of pimples it is crucial to look after your skin and find a skincare routine with products that work well with your skin. This process takes a little trial and error to work out what does suit your skin but when you do find those magic ingredients you will never let them go.
